Autism & ADHD Care

In this chapter of my practice, I’m focusing entirely on children and adults with autism and ADHD.

Who this is for

A practitioner giving a high-five to a smiling child sitting on her mother's lap.

Autism

Every child with autism is different, so care here is individualized and comfort-led. We start with your child’s needs and your family’s goals, and build a plan around them.

ADHD

Care for children with ADHD that follows your child’s lead and your family’s priorities. Your child’s comfort always comes first, and nothing is forced.

Virtual coaching

Coaching is virtual and open to families anywhere. It covers resources and guidance for your family, diet and nutrition, vitamins, daily routines, and sleep — whether you’re new to autism or have been navigating it for years.

In-person visits: acupuncture

When a visit in person is needed, it’s for acupuncture. For children who don’t like needles, I offer needle-free options like ear seeds, acupressure, massage, laser, and other modalities. Your child’s comfort leads, and a treatment is never forced.

Common questions

Does my child have to receive needles?

No. There are needle-free options, and nothing happens without your child’s comfort.

Is this meant to replace our pediatrician, speech therapy, or OT?

No. I work alongside your child’s existing care team.

Can we speak Vietnamese?

Yes — I can explain everything in Vietnamese or English.

What happens virtually, and what needs an in-person visit?

Coaching is virtual. Acupuncture is in person.

How much does a visit cost?

What is MAPS?

MAPS stands for the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs. It’s a professional academy that trains clinicians — doctors, naturopaths, acupuncturists, and other practitioners — to care for children with autism, ADHD, and other complex special needs, looking at the whole child rather than just the diagnosis.

What does it mean that Dr. La is a MAPS member?

It means she’s part of a community of clinicians devoted to this work, with access to MAPS’ specialized education, conferences, and research on children’s special needs.

What is the MAPS Fellowship?

The Fellowship is MAPS’ advanced clinical training: in-depth courses in neurology, immunology, digestion and nutrition, metabolism, and environmental medicine, plus hands-on mentorship with experienced MAPS clinicians. Those who complete it earn the title Fellow of MAPS. Dr. La is currently working toward her Fellowship.
